Nikon’s D300 boasts the new 12.3 megapixel DX-Format CMOS sensor and uses Nikon’s exclusive EXPEED digital imaging processor to make capturing images user friendly while pushing quality to all new levels. What this means is that Nikon had to produce this new processor to keep up with all of the amazing new features the D300 has to offer. Some of the new features include the intelligent scene recognition system that creates the proper exposure for the sharpest images and the all new Active D-Lighting feature which automatically adjusts skin tones at the point of capture.
The Nikon D300 also features an upgraded 51-point autofocus system which uses an intelligent array of 15 cross-type sensors and 36 horizontal sensors. Convenient camera operations make it easy to switch from single area auto focus to dynamic area auto focus groups with a choice of using nine focus points, 21 or all 51 of the focus points.
