The D700 features a 12.1-megapixel FX-format CMOS sensor teamed with Nikon’s EXPEED Image Processing concept and the exclusive Nikon Scene Recognition System. These technologies and more work in concert to deliver breathtaking image quality, faster and more accurate AF performance and smarter white balance detection.
Fast and Agile Handling
With its smaller and lighter design, the D700 will fit the needs of a variety of demanding shooters perfectly! Fast, continuous shooting at up to 5 frames per second (up to 8 fps with the optional MB-D10 Multi-power Battery Pack and EN-EL4a Rechargeable Li-ion Battery or eight AA-size batteries) combined with a start-up time of approximately 0.12 seconds, and shutter release lag time of only 40ms*, contribute to the D700’s pro-level capacity. Nikon’s 51-point AF system with 3D focus tracking, two Live View modes and an ISO sensitivity range of 200 to 6400 are just samples of all that the D700 has to offer. And the D700 boasts Nikon’s first FX-format D-SLR with Image Sensor Cleaning, which is activated when the camera is turned on or off and can also be activated on demand by the photographer.
