Combines the appeal of traditional photography with the freshness of new textures and materials. It is an enlargement speed silver halide emulsion like those used to make black-and-white enlargement papers, designed to be easily applied to any material. Can be used to print photographs on all kinds of interesting surfaces including wood, glass, ceramics, plastics, chinaware, fabric, metal, walls, rocks, artists canvas - perhaps even an egg.
Use Liquid Light to make salon-grade prints on some of the beautiful handmade papers that are available, for a change from look-alike, off-the-shelf photographic papers. Printing with Liquid Light is the same as conventional enlargement paper. In the darkroom under an amber or red safelight, brush the emulsion on the surface to be sensitized. Wait a few minutes for it to firm up, then enlarge onto it like a conventional print. Develop and fix with standard paper developer and fixer. The print will be archivally permanent with a full range of tones from warm blacks to clean, transparent highlights that reveal the texture and color the material underneath. |
